* The post will focus on how to travel to Tartu, but the people who are interested in other cities might be also beneficial.
Airports:
There are 4 airports around that you can consider:
Basically, you can do it by yourself. The tickets from agents usually have higher prices but some of them might have extra-weight for check-in luggage (some kinds of student discount).
Firstly, scanning and comparing the prices on these websites:
After finding out the flight you like to buy a ticket, I recommend you to go directly to the Airline's website and book the ticket there. Booking from International agents might have some risks, especially when you want to change the ticket.
Vietnamese students often get the ticket from VN - Tallinn/Riga for 450-600eur/one direction when moving there the first time, and 500-700eur/return in either winter or summer break.

Airports:
There are 4 airports around that you can consider:
- Tallinn International Airport (TLL).
- Tartu Airport (TAY).
- Riga International Airport, Latvia (RIX).
- Helsinki - Vantaa Airport, Finland (HEL).
- TLL: the airport is not as big as HEL to have many direct flight routes, but it is fine for the flights with one stop (usually Helsinki, Doha, Moscow). The transportation from there to Tallinn center or Tartu is super-convenient. To move to the Tallinn center, buses and trams reach the airport every 15 mins and the duration is about 15 mins. To move to Tartu, you can take Lux-express buses that stop at the airport every 30 - 1 hour with the prices from 10 - 15eur, the duration is 2h10.
- TAY: the airport is small with only one flight route Helsinki - Tartu, therefore the ticket is more expensive. The airport is 12km from the center. Traveling to Tartu center is not really convenient. You can take the shuttle bus with the price 5eur or buses 2eur running some times a day and spend for 40mins. With a taxi, 10 - 15eur depends.
- RIX: the airport is quite big with many flights, the price is usually cheaper than flights from TLL and HEL. Only one big disadvantage is traveling from RIX to Tartu is extremely annoying. There are only ~6 buses Riga - Taru every day and just some of them pass through the airport, means you have to move from the airport to the center to take the bus. The price for a bus ticket is ~15eur and 4 hours duration.
- HEL: As I mentioned above, it's a big airport with many direct flights. You can move from Helsinki to Tallinn by ferry. The ticket is about 20eur with 2.5 hours duration.
